| | description What an interesting little boy you have here. He's very small, about four and a half feet tall, with a slender, fragile looking frame. ( He can't be more than seven or eight years old. ) His extremely pale complexion makes him look almost ghost-like in the light, his snowy white hair just adding to the effect. His eyes are a crystalline blue, the color of the skies on a cloudy day.
He's wearing clothes that match his hair, made of fabric the purest of white. The shirt is oversized, reaching almost to his knees, and has four white buttons going up it, with an unused fifth on the open collar. The sleeves are too long, allowing only the very tips of his thin fingers to show. The matching pants are also a size or two too large, wrinkling up at the bottom around his sock-encased feet.
Now for his 'less-normal' features. On his back are two huge white clouds, each one at least the length of his body. As much as they look like clouds, they're actually not; they're wings, made of some sort of extremely light substance that's soft to the touch. They weigh almost nothing at all, allowing him to carry them with ease. He can fly pretty well with them, too.
The only other abnormal thing about him is that he has two thin cyan 'feathers' poking out of his hair on the top of his head. They don't seem to have any use other than decoration.

| | world In Near's world, Pokemon roam the earth freely in place of natural animals. It is much like the Pokemon universe from the video games an anime, except, when a Pokemon is captured, it takes on a human form with features of the Pokemon it had been before.
The human-Pokemon follow their trainer and the rest of their team, hardly ever utilizing the Pokeballs, and when sent into battle, become full Pokemon once again. In human form, they retain their Pokemon powers - abilities, attacks, etc. can still be used while in the form - but the attacks are much weaker than in true Pokemon form.

| | life Near was captured by a Pokemon trainer named L, and joined a party of five other Pokemon like him. Mello, a Houndoom, who didn't seem to like how much attention cute little Near got; Matt, a Jolteon, who was kind to Near, but was always faithful to his mate, Mello; Soichiro, a Kadabra, rather quiet and not very sociable with the others; Matsuda, a Sealeo - frankly idiotic, the only completely brainless Pokemon in the bunch; and, finally, Watari, a Torterra, closest to L and caretaker of them all. The group was traveling through Sinnoh together, as always, when Near ended up in the Dressing Room.
